Supporting Play Based Learning During Lock-down

 

1-The Importance of Play. (What does the research tell us about Play?) 
It contributes to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of children and youth. 
-Language and literacy development, social and emotional skills, 
Creativity and imagination, Confidence and a positive attitude towards learning, Motor Skills
2-The importance of Communication between Home and school
-Find out ways to communicate better with your families.
(google meet, text, phone) don’t give up. Keep inviting them.
Strengthen Home School Relationship Listen to Parents’ voices,
What is working, and support them.
-Ask questions-Teachers really need to know what is happening at home.
 Coach them on how to facilitate play/learning at home.
-Assure the parents of the importance of play and its vital to the child and youth's well-being.
-Parents are not missing out on anything if they do not have devices and the latest technology.
-Nature is a great resource. That is all they need.
3-Manage Child’s screen time.
As a parent, it’s your job to be aware of how your child spends his or her time,
as well as the role screens, play in their health and well-being.
-we are all aware of the advantage of screens and digital technology
While screens are a convenient way to access information and maintain
relationships, they also come with several disadvantages:
-Reduce screen time by engaging in a play activity.
-Have fun and enjoy playing with the children at home during this lockdown.
